Questions people ask

What is We-Together?

We-Together is a private place for survivors of sexual abuse to record what happened, in their own words and at their own pace. We look for other survivors who seem to have described the same person, so that nobody has to feel they are the only one.

Do I have to give my name?

No. When you sign up you get a reference number to log in with. You can add a pseudonym and an email address if you want to, and both are stored encrypted.

If you would like an email address just for this, you can create a separate one: Placeholder link: creating an anonymous email address

Do I have to answer every question?

No. You choose which sections to fill in and you can skip any question. Your answers are saved as you go, so you can stop and come back later.

Will my report be sent to the police?

No. We-Together does not send your report to the police. Whether to go to the police is always your choice. What happens next explains this in more detail.

Can other survivors see what I wrote?

No. Other survivors never see anything about you, and you never see anything about them. Only a small number of trained moderators can read reports.

Can I change or delete what I have written?

Yes. You can edit your reports, add new ones, or delete your account and everything in it at any time. Reports you start but do not finish are deleted after 90 days.

What if I forget my password?

You can reset it with the recovery code you were given when you signed up, or with a link sent to your email address if you gave one.
